Q. Where can I find out about free parking in Stratford?
A. Concessionary Parking Pass (over 65's)
If you are:
- 65 years old or over, and
- resident in Stratford-on-Avon District and
- the driver of a vehicle you are entitled to a Concessionary Parking Pass
The Pass will entitle you to park FREE OF CHARGE in the Recreation Ground and Swans Nest Lane car parks, in Stratford-upon-Avon, subject to available spaces.
If you would like a Pass, you will need to apply in person, showing your driving licence and providing your car registration number at one of the following offices;
Stratford-on-Avon District Council - Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon
Alcester - Globe House, Priory Road, Alcester
Shipston - 44 Telegraph Street, Shipston-on-Stour
Southam - The Grange, Coventry Road, Southam
For further information please contact the Parking Services Team on 01789 260691 or by email at parking@stratford-dc.gov.uk or by fax on 01789 260007
The nearest office to Avon Dassett is in The Grange Hall, Southam. Please take your driving licence, a note of your car registration number and a current utility bill. You will be asked to complete a form and the Permit will then be processed and returned through the post. There is no charge for the provision of the Permit and they are valid for 12 months.
Once you are in possession of a Concessionary Parking Permit you will be allowed to use the parking facilities provided in the Recreation Ground Car Park which is the car park behind the Swans' Nest Hotel on the south side of the river in Stratford. Regretfully, parking provision for over 65's is only allowed in this car park. The location of this park is only a short walk across the river into the centre of the town.
